    Hey there,

Purchased a new external hard drive and placed it in an infosafe case (StarTech.com) for backing up stuff, but mainly to put all of my photos on it. It is attached to a USB2.0 7-Port Hub (which is new as well). Now that it is attached to my computer, how do i set it up so that my computer recognizes it so that i can install win xp on it? Do i partition it or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I understand that other windows platforms used to do this easily, but not xp.

    thanx

Is it recognized in my computer .....if not, go to control panel/admin tools/disc management ...is it shown there? If so right click and set to format ...then create logical disc ...

    Thanks,
just got back from getting the drive all initialized for me...the big ribbon connection thingy was loose (my computer jargon..ha). But now I am having trouble installing the software for the One-Button Backup. Will go to the manufactures website and see if i can get some help, and then get back to you. What you told me to do, was what the tech did. Thanks
