I'd like to hook up my PlayStation 2 to my computer and play on my LCD MONITOR (not T.V. just to clarify things..). I've heard that this is possible if you buy a special cable for the PS2 that has an S-Video cable attached to it. I recently bought one of those cables, and am still lost.

I have a TV Tuner in my computer (not sure exactly what specs because it came with my comp, and tried plugging the cables into that, but so far, nothing is happening.

Here is a link to my computer's specs and such:

Before anyone tells me to ditch the integrated graphics card.. I already have. The computer came with NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6150 SE onboard. I disabled that and added in this one (e-GeForce 8600GT 256MB):

Can someone tell me, in detailed steps how to get the computer to recognize my PS2 once I plug the cables into the proper inputs? Also, does the S-Video cable from my PS2 go into the TV Tuner S-Video port, the graphics card S-Video port, or can I use the S-Video port on the front of the computer?

My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 223BW (21.6" Widescreen LCD). And it does not have any S-Video ports for the record...

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Search on Google for a PS2 to VGA adaptor - it only brings up UK results and from the links you posted I'm presuming you're from the US.

You will also need a seperate sound connectiong unless you monitor has built in speaker too.

It seems stupid to try and connect the PS2 into your computer and then out to the monitor - connect it directly to the monitor with a PS2 to VGA adaptor.

That solution is all well and good if you can find one of those, but I don't think they are so easy to get here.. Not to mention, I don't have a credit card or PayPal at this point in time so online purchases are a bit...impossible.

I solved the problem.. I bought an RF modulator and routed the PS2 through that. Gameplay is slow though. Any ideas on how to fix that?
