Need Help with Ads in browser

I have Google ads on my website and they aren't showing up in any browser on this computer as long as Windows is running. If I boot into Linux I can see the ads. This goes for all ads for that matter. I can't see any ads on any site in Windows. Normally this would be good, but I really need to know where those ads are so I can write webpages. I've tried IE, Firefox, and Netscape Navigator 7.2. None of them will show ads anywhere. They redirect to localhost and then it shows a 404. When the ads are Javascript there isn't even whitespace where they are supposed to be.

Please help, I've tried everything that I can think of.

 

make sure you have ad blocking software disabled and that your hosts file is not set to redirect google ads to local host.

 

I did replace the host file because of this problem. Where can I find an original host file, or one that doesn't redirect to localhost. Also, when I go to http://aim.aol.com/ to check mail it redirects to localhost in ALL browsers. It redirects to localhost when I go to some other URLs also. Links like the Google Sponsered Links that appear at the top of the Google Search.

As far as I know, I don't have any ad-blockers installed. I have looked and haven't found any.

 

Oh, I found the problem. It was in the HOSTS file. Thanks for your help
