Hi Major Geeks! I am new to this.. :wave

I used your how to debug minidumps thread (which was very helpful) to try and figure out what is causing my recent BSOD screens (4 in the last two days) :cry

But after I debugged them I tried googling the possible causes and there was a lot of conflicting information :confused

I've attached all 4 recent minidump files in my post.. Please help!

    THANK YOU :)

    Hi

I take it your Windows version is Vista (have to ask as the minidumps at times report a Vista fault when the OS is actually Windows 7 of late) and if so what Service Pack you using?

This fault in ntkrpamp.exe is one that covers many areas and none easy at times to nail to the actual cause.

What software/drivers or hardware have you installed of late?
Did this happen after you installed one of the above items, if so what one?

Pleas give any information that led upto this, did you just re-install Windows, have you just remove malware etc etc?

Try booting into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and choose Safe Mode with Networking and see if your PC works ok?

Can also try the steps HERE, can also if you can boot into Windows ok, run from an elevated command (CMD) prompt, system file checker.

Type CMD into the Start Search box and then right click CMD and choose Run as Administrator to bring up a command window, then type sfc /scannow and hit enter, may need to pop the Windows cd/dvd into the drive.

    Hi Halo,

Thank you for replying so quick..

I'm sorry I should have specified that (duh) .. Yes I have Windows Vista Basic Home Service Pack 2..

I have not installed anything recently (Besides the WinDbg program to debug the minidump files)
I also haven't reinstalled windows or anything.. however, whenever I had the blue screen crashes I was using google chrome.. So I thought it might be corrupted.. I uninstalled it and restarted my computer... then installed it again and as soon as I opened it google chrome crashed again (but no blue screen crash) ..

Also, whenever I check for Windows Updates it gives me the Error Code 80072EFE.

There's a very long troubleshooting page for that error at Microsoft Support, if that and resetting the Windows Update components doesn't work, you may have some kind of malware infection.

Best to follow the info from Halo first though :).

I've tried to run HALO's suggestions but the page needed windows update to work and because of that error I was unable to perform it..

However I did find this: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684

After I installed it and scanned my computer, it did find malware which was "cured" and windows updates worked again!!

I also performed the CMD scan.. Results:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS log."

Once I ran the CBS log and used the command "findstr /C:"[SR] Cannot repair member file" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log" to narrow it down to the corrupted files only (correct me if I'm wrong) these are my results (please see attached screenshot) .. now where I'm stuck is how to actually repair these corrupt files? :confused
