I just installed AVG and found it doesn't scan IncrediMail--only Outlook Express--unless configured differently. I tried to configure it. I got this message: "If your application is not in the list of supported e-mail clients, you will have to manually wset up the proxy connection in both the application and AVG Universal e-Mail Scanner. Please see the step-by-step guide in the help file." But nothing happens when I click the Help button. Can anybody lead me step-by-step to get AVG to scan my IncrediMail e-mail? I'm scared to death that my e-mail is not getting protection against viruses. Thanks.

I don't know how to configure it, but one way to not get viruses through email is to not open suspicious attachments or even emails. That is usually all you need to do.

Thank you, Mr._flea. I do do that.
And thank you, xflat. I'm much relieved. I don't know how you Geeks know such things as "basically IncrediMail sends to 127.0.0.1 and AVG scans all in and out on 127.0.0.1," but I'm glad you do. MajorGeeks never disappoints me when I am seeking help.
