need help with drivers

    i got a new hdd and it didn't have any OS on it so i put windows xp on it and it didn't come with some of the drivers as usual it is a Compaq mother board in a dell case i didn't build it my cousin did and i just cant find the video controller which is VGA compatible and the sound driver the motherboard serial is 981 rev 0r s2c please help:)

    You can follow this :wave

    Start - Run type this mmc devmgmt.msc - Ok - right click to yellow device - Properties - Details - scroll down the arrow finding Hardware ids - there is a code in the box , we need it ( select all - copy - paste ) the code here

    video driver hardware id is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2562&SUBSYS_00B80E11&REV_01

    audio driver hardware id is: SAME THING ^^

    network controller: PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0201&SUBSYS_00321737&REV_01

    then you can download this for network controller

    you could save the drivers then go to saving location

    C:\Documents and Settings\gfd\My Documents\Downloads

    running the driver one by one ( in each installation you must restart your machine ) even you can download this

    to go to mainboard tab to inform about your motherboard model , are you sure the hardware id of the audio device is the same ? :wave

    this file is a 7Zip arcive, so vapeking will need 7Zip installed on his computer to extract it.

    I would be tempted as you mention Compaq motherboard in a Dell case... and that is not normal!

    To run the following and we can see the hardware used


    With this info we can suggest drivers for you as you will likely need motherboard and VGA drivers and the motherboard ones are crucial.
