Need HELP with Excel and Word

Hi Geeks:
We have a retail store for which we are in the midst of computirizing our inventory via Microsoft Point of Sale (POS). Our suppliers have sent to us bar code information for hundreds/thousands of items to enter into our server.
They come in various forms mainly EXCEL and WORD.
The string of numbers come sometimes separated by a space or a dash.
QUESTION: How do you remove the space in between digits .
since POS can accept a continuous string of numbers for each item.
I have tried the TRIM function in excel without success and in Word there is nothing about this issue in the help menu.
Pls help us ASAP.

The Trim function removes only leading and trailing spaces, but not INTERNAL spaces. I think you'll have more luck with the replace function. You can specify that any " " <-- (blank space) be replaced with "" <-- (no blank space)!

Thanks for your help. The Replace function in Excel is working well.
Now how about converting PDF files to Excell or Word or TXT. How do I do that?
Example: I received a file in PDF format and saved it as text. When I open the file it's blank. Nothing was saved. I use latest version of Acrobat reader.
Pls adv. ASAP.

Have you tried Copying the text and pasting into Word or a text editing program (I use Notetab - much better than the wimpy NotePad)
