Need help with gameing BAD

Ok i got a old steam powered computer "saveing up for a new one but its going to be a while till i hit my $3,000 mark for the pc i want."


Im playing a game the min requirements are 128mb ram 32mb vram or 256ram and 64mb vram.

my cpu is 1.05ghz faster than they say i need i got 256mhz of ram up to date direct x 128mb overclocked GEforce4 but i lag some times unless i skip 2 frames and um on low settings.

Ok yeah i know my pc sucks but its better than nothing and i dont play meny games only this. my ram is pc100 the moped of ram could the ram be my prob or is there some magic settings i can use to help the game out. my mother bord is a Motherboard Manufacturer: Acer Laboratories Inc.
Motherboard Model: ALi 1631 so if anyone knows if i can hadle better ram let me know and i'll buy some for it and snap that pc100 crap in 1/2 my screen res is 1024X768

it might be my ping but i just ditched my steam powered 56k for some 6mb cable W00T and im never goings back so could someone tell if its this or what not and how to help smooth out thinks and take away some of the lag.

also is there anything that i can use thats like a turbo like when i hold down fire it will keep fireing intill the key is let go?
