    to all:
I have a used laptop with a cd-rom, and the hard drive only has ms-dos on it. I think that I need an autoexec file and a sys.com file with some lines pointing to a driver. And need the driver itself. The laptop is a compaq N610. Can someone point out what I need to do to get the cd-rom recognized? Many thanks in advance, yodel99

do you want to use dos? or update it to something else? try this site for some ideas

you should be able to modify some of the startup files for win 95/98/ME to see what you need.
