Are you sure you dont have 2 DDR slots and 2 SD-RAM slots instead of 4 DDR slots??

Nice! Never seen one of these.

Anyway, Shouldnt really matter which slots you put it in, should work either way. Just put them together.

    I got your PM.
Please dont PM me with questions for help.
Post them on the forum for all to read, so other's can assist, or learn from your problems.

For Dual Channel, Use the blue slots, one equal stick in each.

Asus, the mobo manufacture, reccomends you use the blue slots first.
When you boot your PC on the post screen it will say running in dual channel, if you are.

I have to ask, didnt you get manual with your mobo, best bet is to read it, dont be lazy!
All that great info, like memory stuff is in it.

but when i use some 3d applications(only) like nba live2004 my pc randomly restarts, crashes and sometimes gives me a blue screen error (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)... but when i try to put one stick on the blue and the other one on the black it runs smoothly...

you might be able to fix that by loosening the RAM timings in the BIOS to 3-4-4-8

theres only 2 choices in RAM timings manula and auto by SPD.. can u tell me more briefly.. im just a newbie

auto by SPD means a chip on the RAM controls the timings and manuel you set it yourself ... if it is set to SPD most likely they are set to 3-4-4-8

here's a quick tut on what timings are: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/fma/P4tweakRAM2.htm

although it does sound to me as if your board just won't do dual channel for what ever reason ... or there is another setting that I'm forgetting about

Asus Dual channel mobo's are picky with memory!
Try installing both memory chips in the black slot's, that can achieve duel channel mode too!

As Pyrate suggest relax mem timings.

Might run memory test too! Maybe memory not up to snuff?

Err! ive done everything.. runned memtest for a whole night, switched my memory into the blck slots, lighten hardware settings, etc. and still crashes with 3d apps.
