I picked up a brand new WD360Raptor and installed XP Pro onto it.
The problem is that when I boot it up, it enters a PXE preboot environment
    - it says DCHP...... then - please insert system disk
I inserted the XP cd, but it doesn't work.
I hooked up my old harddrive back and it works, so it must be something with the Raptor...

Insert the XP Cd-Rom, and when it boots and ask for "3rd party driver" disk, you will insert the driver disk for the SATA drive.

PXE has to do with Intel's ethernet controller's. Sounds like the PC is attempting to boot off of the "Boot Rom" for the Ethernet card.

I bought the OEM version of the HD, so I don't have a HD disk :(

    I have a P4 2.8 Ghz running 1gig of RAM, 6600gt, with a 3200rpm 60gig HD.
Im not sure if im running RAID.

I don't know if this helps-
i can set my old hard drive as top priority and have it boot up the comp, then boot up windows with my new HD with no problem.
The new HD just boots up windows very slow, just as slow as my old HD.

I got 53mbs from the test :/ slow?

    I got a couple questions.

    1. Would changing the jumpers from the hard drives do anything?
    2. If I booted off of my old hard drive and ran programs off of the D: drive (Raptor), would it be run at the Raptor's speed or my old hard drive's speed?
    3. Is there anyway to fix the PXE preboot problem?
