need help with .pst file

Hello, help needed please!

My mother got her e-mails from her ex-lawfirm transfered onto a disk so she had them here at home. They used Outlook at that firm, and we have Outlook here on our pc too. When I put the disk in, i saved the archives.pst file to my harddrive in a new folder on my desktop. Though, it will not open up with anything correctly, and when i open it up into outlook itself it just puts it as an attachment in an e-mail. Also, when you try to open it on outlook, it says "Outlook blocked access to this potentially unsafe item." This is driving me crazy lol, though these e-mails are very important. I tried importing them though nothing shows up when i finish that process. If anyone can help i, and my mother would greatly appreciate it.

yes, tried all the importing possibilities from file->import/export
