need help with slow boot

    Hi I am running a Dell Inspirion desktop. OS is Win 7 Home premium. I have 1 gig of RAM. Over time by boot time is slow. I checked to see if I needed to defragement and it was not necessary. I disabled startup programs using msconfig. What else can I d to speed up boot time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advancerolleyes

    I agree with falconattack. Running Vista or 7 on only 1GB of RAM can be painfully slow. Increase the amount of RAM you have to 2GB or more.

    Buy RAM! I'm running a low end netbook (7 Home Prem) with 2GB RAM, another netbook (7 Home Prem) with 4GB RAM and a Dell Optiplex desktop( 7 Pro) with 4GB of RAM.
    What is the maximum RAM the Inspiron can take?
