    Hi,

It's been a few months since I needed help but I'm back again. Last night our power went out for a few seconds and then came back on. My son's pc went out and when it came back up the Stop Error below came up and no matter what I do this is as far as I can get. Safe mode not working nor is anything else. Can't get past the following screen. Please help.

As always thank you very much for your help.

    *** STOP: 0x0000007B ( 0xFCDB0330, 0xC0000032, 0x00000000, 0x0000000 )
    INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop Error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK / F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer.

Refer to your Getting Started manual for more info on troubleshooting Stop Errors.

I can not get past this screen to run any checks. I opened the Help section on my pc and looked at the Stop Error section but it was no help at all. Everything gives me directions on what to do from the desktop. Can't get to his desktop. What do I do???????????/

What OS is on the computer? If it is XP and you have the disk, boot up from the CD and run Recovery Console. In there you can run chkdsk.

If not Could you take the hard drive out and put it in your computer? Put the jumper to slave on your son's hd. When the system boots run chkdsk.

Sorry, I always forget to mention the OS. We have Windows 2000 Professional. I work from home and cannot risk screwing up my pc. So taking anything in or out of mine is out of the question. I bought these pc's from a doctor that I worked for and everything came loaded on them so I do not have any software or books. Now, a while back he screwed his up so bad with viruses that I had to crash it and got a copy of windows from someone I know and completely redid his pc and I still have that cd but other than that I do not have anything else. What would cause it to do that and is there any way of getting past that screen to the desktop so I can try and fix it? Can anything be done from the DOS screen if I can get to it?

    Thanks,
    Cheri

I got it fixed. The CD that my friend gave me had the repair on it. I ran it and it fixed it. Thank goodness. That's the easiest fix I've done yet....

Glad to hear you are up and running. What CD was it and what kind of a repair did you do, that got it working? The info may help someone else in the future.
