need help with video conversion

ive download some old dvd's onto my computer they are in the VIDEO_TS, and AUDIO_TS folders, how do i convert those into mpeg? is there a software that i can use or something? the file types inside the VIDEO_TS folder are .vob, .bup, and 1 .ifo file. any help here would be appreciated.

Nero should be able to burn them in that format and create a playable DVD..Is there anything in the audio folder? If there is, try dropping the main folder containg the two into your DVD burning software

 

i know nero can make a dvd out of it, im trying to compress it to mpeg so that i can back it up onto my 1 terra external hd

 

Try AutoGK if an AVI format is acceptable. It can shrink a DVD to about 700mb (very watchable on a PC or 1400mb if more detail is needed) two CDs ( which means 1400mb) is the default but going to 1 CD (700mb) is my preference . The interface is pretty easy to use, just select defaults. It doesn't like .ifo files so select the .vob with 01_1 as the input file. It will figure out the rest. Conversion takes about 3 hrs .
