Need Help With Video_tdr_failure Atikmpag.sys Or Backup

I am using an AMD Radeon HD 7700. 2 days ago Windows 10 tried to update and failed. Since then, my computer is crashing with this error display: video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys

• I can only boot into safe mode. Sometimes I can get into safe mode with networking, but it is a nightmare with Windows 10.

• For some reason I only have 2 system restore files, but neither of them work.

• I have tried updating and rolling back my graphics driver. I have tried the Windows 'reset with personal files saved' option, but that fails.

• Scan disk on C drive reports that it found errors, then tells me to reboot and fix them.

• I tried the following fixes, but get stuck at Method# 3, Step#3

At this point I am wondering if it is a graphics card failure or if the Windows 10 update corrupted everything. I would like some advice as to how to proceed.

Should I continue to try to fix this, replace the driver, or create a backup of my application files and try a reset to factory condition?


I have a driver backup folder from December of 2013 if that helps.
I also have several registry backups that CCleaner created.
I can back up my important files like photos, documents and saved game data, but I have a lot of apps that I would prefer not to lose.

I am at my wits end and am turning to the experts! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Try Rolling back the driver from Device Manager.
