Need Help withe the leftovers

Friend of mine got a virus the otherday, it was the Mugly one. Well, I went through the removal process and succsessfully removed it. Now, when I try to run a program called FORMS MAGIC, it invokes the installer and attempts to install something from Quickbooks???? It will eventually give me this error..

"Error 1334. The file 'BSZIP.DLL' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

I do know that BSZIP.DLL was part of the virus. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Have you tried uninstalling FORMS MAGIC and then reinstalling it?

Make sure you completely remove all remnants, manually as well if needed, then reboot and reinstall.

 

Yes, I did try that. When I reinstalled it did the exact same thing...

I wish I could find what is calling up quick books and asking for the DLL.

 

When you reinstalled formmagic did you detect the virus again?
If BSZIP.DLL is a virus file,how did you identify it?
You said you disinfected it,did you do it manualy or using an anti-virus?

 

If you do have spyware, which looks like you do, I would suggest you follow the recommendations in the Spyware Forum as well.
