need help

    need help fixin my pc sound driver i runin xp i got a gateway dont no model the momtherboard number is one of these n1996 or ms-7248r but i dont no wut one and my harddrive is not the one to the gateway help i ben triyin to fix it for 6 moths

    To help gain the correct model please follow the below and attach the log in a text file and we will see what we can find.


    This one HERE is likely to be the Audio driver but do attach the log to be sure, as without being certain of the model numbers you posted, its just a guess.

    Hi

    One of your major problems will be that you have no Service Pack for XP installed and many devices will need at least SP2 to be installed, so do a Windows update and then install the UAA driver if you dont install SP3 for XP (its built into SP3 but needed for SP2) then download and install the Audio driver I linked to in the earlier post.

    i got service pack 2 now and download the sound drivers it you link to me and it wont work so i dont no

    Hi

    Did you install the UAA driver first before the Audio?

    If you get any errors or messages when installing the drivers, please do tell us what they are as it helps figure out whats going on as its not as easy as you'd think to troubleshoot drivers at times when not sitting at the PC involved.

    Also in Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks, if so by what devices, I know ones likely to be audio, but do let us know all of them if any.
