need help

I have a emachines T3092 and i was wanting to upgrade my ram. Can anyone help me? I want to go to 2gb if possible please help.

 

Also i cant burn dvds on my drive. I cant even get it to read the dvd sometimes it shows up as a cd.

 

Places I've looked at say 2GB maximum for your machine.
Can't advise on your other problem.

Goto www.crucial.com and it will analyze your computer and list what you can install. You can order from there or just bring the specs into a local shop.

Regarding your DVD, what burning software do you have? Could you ever burn a DVD?:wave:wave

 

well my computer had a trojan factory on it cause my friend went to website that was infected. so we had to wipe the computer clean and when we used a reboot disc the disc wasnt set up for a dvd drive i guess. the drive has never been used.

 

confusedSo, the puter isn't able to boot from the dvd drive? Did you set it to boot there from the BIOS? How did you wipe the drive?

 

we took the emos battery out to eliminate the passwords my mom forgot them then we erased everything off of it then i used the emachines reboot disc i dont have it in front of me my friend has it but since then it wont write dvds maybe i used the wrong boot disk?

 

Again, how did you "erase" it, do you mean format? And are you set to boot CD/DVD from BIOS?

I think on that machine, enter BIOS by tapping F10, maybe F11, key on startup. Or maybe you get a brief message screen on bootup that says "enter setup"?:wave:wave

 

what do i do after i go in there

 

Look through the menus. Somewhere you will be given an option for boot sequence or order. Using the space bar, you will be able to choose boot from from CD/DVD to be first, just deselect the others. :wave:wave
