Need Help

I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9220Y and it will not show anything on the monitor.The monitor says HDMI -No Input Signal and VGA says the same thing.The fans sre running & the green light is on in the back.But windows or anything else does not come up.Someone said it is probably the graphics card has went out .Is this true or could it be something else ? I tried another monitor & cable and it still does not work.Ive cleaned the inside with canned air but still no luck.I would appreciate some thoughts on this.Thank You

 

hi now i think youll find that particular model has onboard graphics as well as a graphics card..from your description i would be inclined to agree with your friend

on the rear of your computer tower there should be a connection for a monitor covered up with a black cover (no hdmi) unscrew this and connect a vga cable then start your machine..i personally would remove the old graphics card before booting..if you feel uncomfortable doing this you will have to enter the bios setup on boot and change display adapter to the onboard graphics..not sure which key to enter setup usually f1..f2 f10 etc check your manual or use google

if you then get a display..you can continue using the onboard or invest in a new card for gaming or if you need HD output.

Thank You very much.When it comes to computers im a dummy.lol....Now what is going on is that it would never come back on since my first post but today it came on & the blue light is on the power button & the computer is working fine.Can anyone tell me now what is going on ??

 

Yesterday the computer came back on & was working fine but then we had a storm so i shut it off & its doing the same thing again.I tried what you told me to do but it did not work.The blue light will not come on but the fans run & the green light is on in the back.There is beeps...1 short and 1 long when you turn it on.
