NEED IMMEDIENT HELP! (lost files)

    my friend lost some files on a XP 2002 home.
    he updated one of those yahoo briefcases and updated it wrong.
    is there any way to get these files back?

    Can you elaborate a little.

    Did he delete them after he thought he had uploaded the to his breifcase, or did they just majically disappear, or....you fill in the blank.

    he updated it backwards!
    so, newer files went back to old files.

    EDIT: ran 2 scans.
    1st one didnt find anything.
    second one just found an empty folder which was in the briefcase.
