WELCOME to Major Geeks -- get ready...you're going to get a bunch of advice I think.

This isn't really the answer you're looking for, I bet, and maybe you've already done this. Did you spend a chunk of time reading posts in the technical section above, especially in the "Networking" section? I find just reading the problems people have and the answers others give show me so many things (even if I don't have that issue yet or never will) They're like free mini-lectures. :)

alright well if you want to learn go to www.majorgeeks.com :) then go to the forums section, and read all the old posts and learn about how people solved other people's problems. This should give you a wide range of stuff. Other than that I would just read around on any articles you can find. There is so much to know about computers so its hard to find a site that has such a wide range of topics it covers. I would just basically search for like articles on specific stuff you feel like learning and then do it. Then keep going until you are a major geek. But I definitely would start by reading the old posts like pegg had mentioned. Like I have said a number of times before, the best way to learn is by example. That is how I have come to learn all that I know and i bet that is how so many others have learned about computers also. I got interested in computers about 5 years ago when I was in 4th grade and all I did was read articles on topics I found interesting. I myself find programming to be an interesting topic, so that is what I studied and read about and now I know multiple languages.

Another way that I have come to learn about computers (specifically building compters) was by taking community classes that were held at my local high school. If you live in a community that has classes like this at a local college or high school I would recommend taking them and maybe inviting some people you know along also. That way they can share part of your interests.

I hope this has helped and I know that a lot of other people are going to post like 40 threads in like 24 hours but I hope you read this over because without what I just mentioned all above, I would not be here and I wouldn't be a geek... lol:p
