need info

i was woundering if someone can post a few links for me to download or help me tweak my computer for it to run a lot smoother and/or make it stop overloading it self were i dont have to wait a long time todo a nother thing im trying to play a game that i downloaded and it wont let me cuz my computer is slow or somthing cuz it lag's a 100% so i was just wounder if some one could tell me a way to make everything on my computer to run super fast with some free downloads or tell me how to tweak it cuz im not good at computer just playing games on them LOL
as for my computer info i have a Hp pavilon v70s havent put ne thing in it so its 100% standerd lol btw this is a family computer so there is a lot of myspace and AOL BS on it.

oh and i just looked at the tower and it says this computer is a hp pavilion 533w?

 

Before you start adding anything, if you are using Windows XP, go to
Start>Accessories>System Tools
Under System Tools are Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter.
They are not the best things to use, but you can run them to see if you get any improvement. That's a start.

yup used them and have avast anti virus spybot ad-ware and a few reg cleaners and HDCleaner they help very lil im whanting to but the speed in my computer so i can get more FPS on my game so i dont have these lags im on broadband and i still get realy bad lags
