Need keyboard customizing software

I'm looking for an app (free) that will allow me to disable certain keys on the keyboard, mainly the Insert key as it is constantly messing things up as I accidentally hit it with it being right next to the backspace key. I know that Pitaschio will do this, but it has tons of other settings that I have no need for, and I have no idea what the Windows defaults are for some of the settings in Pitaschio, and I don't want to mess up something I need. And some of Pitaschio;s settings make no sense to me, like what does "allow stick from within" mean, and what does "send to under cursor window" mean, and it's in a section for the mouse wheel??? So, I guess what I'm asking is this: how do I disable the Insert key easily without effecting anything else?
    Thanks

I usually recommend the tiny utility called First Cap 3.2 for those who experience this type of "pROBLEM."

This freeware program is called "First Cap" because it allows the user to check if keyboard "Caps Lock" function is active however it can also "deactivate" the Caps Lock and/or Num Lock button from operating by default altogether.

It can not only disable "Caps Lock" and "Num Lock" but also the equally annoying "Insert keyboard" functions, as well as turn off Caps Lock status in consequence of various keyboard combinations key and customize the status of the Caps Lock and Num Lock in connection of some specific programs.

A small icon remains in your Windows desktop taskbar so that you can easily "activate/deactivate" First Cap if you wish - however it is not really necessary to do so because this tool uses close to "zero" resources while it remains active, keeping these annoying keys disabled.

Side Note: A quick read through the help files would be a good idea to thoroughly take advantage of all that this program has to offer configuration-wise. ;)

    Good Luck!
