Need new video card fan

my dads computer is suddenly loud as hell and I am pretty sure the gpu fan is dieing, I need a cheap one off newegg that will work with an apollo 5200FX(agp)

 

Is it a retail card? My experience has been the manufacturer will send a replacement, for free in most cases. I used to have a Guillemot Hercules card, and they sent me fans, twice, no questions or information asked, aside from shipping address.

 

yeah, bought it at a local PC store about 8 months ago, it has the name "bloody monster 3"

 

I agree chat with the manufacturers but you could also consider:

Should still be under warranty!?! If not have a chat to the salesman at the store and just dicuss quality service, professional integrity and what are reasonable product expectations. If this seems to be falling on deaf ears ask to speak to the manager, your voice could be getting a bit louder at this point and if there is no warranty then loudly question professional integrity of the store.

Works wonders! You paid good money for that Video Card and even if you don't get your money/replacement at least you have piece of mind that you tried to do something.

 

I emailed apollo and they gave me an RMA # so all I have to do is wait until my dad gets his new computer so I can send it in, he can't go even a day without, he needs it to play WoW. and my dad is a WoW addict.It's too bad they can't just send me a fan, but this gonna mean I will get a brand new video card that should last a few more years.

Try to get your dad to have a look otherwise he maybe in the same boat in the near future.

 

yeah, my dad really doesn't care about his computer because he is getting a new one soon, he doesn't care if it melts as long as he has a way to play WoW.

 

Jeez he should consider some filters for the new one so it will last longer. Whats he getting?

I am helping him make the hardware choices, of course thsoe are specs after it is upgraded.

 

Just curious but won't the 500Mg slow the 1Gb to it's own capacity?!? And therefore better to get DIMM 2Gb or just stick with 1Gb. I'm no expert but have read numerous threads to that affect. Rest looks pretty good you'll have to do a benchmark once OS is in place but before all the other apps are installed (taking resources).

 

I didn't know about that, my PC came with 2x256 and I added 1 stick of 512 to the 3rd slot.

 

You should ask ACE256 in overclocking he will give you a more informed opinion.
