    Hi,
Many of us, who are hard of hearing, now miss conversations via Skype due to MS' change to not allow you to select a specific notification media file. This was a new "feature" from MS. To add insult to injury, they have enveloped the installed files such that you can't easily get at them any more.

I have some info on where the files are and the name of the notification file. I would like to ask someone with programmer skills if they might look to see if there was any kind of a solution.

    Thanks in advance.

    cheers, Byron

I don't use Skype, we used Lync, that was evolving into Skype for business, we went to Jabber, but anyway, when notifications (calls - chat) come in does it launch a window or just flash a system tray icon?
You know they make lights that link up to Skype, like busylight.com, that you can use as a visual ringer.

Thanks, we have a group of us who use skype to help others (typically older) hard of hearing folks with various computer and life issues. We used to be able to select a specific sound file for notification. MS, in their infinite wisdom, decide to hard code a notification file, and then to basically hide the install/program files so you can't get at them. We can't really move to another platform as the training impact would be too much for many of the folks.

But, thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
    Cheers, Byron
