I have a dell inspiron 8200. I recently reformatted the hard drive and installed windows xp, everything was working fine. I tried to re-install Microsoft Office, Small Business Edition, but I got this blue screen that said an error occured. It had to reboot and now I get a "Unmountable Boot Volume" error. I know I have to boot from cd and use the recovery console, but the problem is the laptop won't boot from cd anymore, it did before this error but now it does. By the way, the laptop does not have any floppy drives so I can't boot from floppy disk. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Also, I'm fixing this laptop for a friend, and he needs it back by tomorrow. Hence the quick in the thread title.

I know the meaning of quick!!! (boy do i...) anyway to the point. Go into the BIOS by pressin delete, F1, or insert. then make sure of the boot order. it should be something where the CDrom is before the hard drive. for ex. mine is 1-removable devices 2-CDROM 3- Hard drive 4-Network boot. that should help ya. when ya boot off the CD do repair. then you should be cookin with clean burning natural gas...repost if you have probs....
