Need serious vista help

Ok, here's the rundown:

Brand new laptop with Vista. Ran all the startup stuff and got vista installed and everything. Then my problem began. After using the internet for roughly an hour to two hours the browsers (I've tried both IE and Firefox) lose their connection to the internet whereas other programs like xfire, msn messenger, etc stay connected. Furthermore, when this occurs, the browsers will not close properly no matter what I try to do in task manager. When they get stuck restarting/shutting down the computer will not activate and I have to hold in the power button. I've looked all over the internet and there are a few places with people having the same problem, but they can't find a fix.

It's a completely updated 32 bit Vista Home Premium.

-Browsers completely updated
-All updated drivers
-Tried resetting the TCP/IP stack and winsock to no avail
-Tried turning off my wireless card and turning it back on but nothing except a full computer restart fixes it
-Disabled all firewalls to no avail


I'm almost ready to uninstall Vista and use something else it is so frustrating. Please, help me.

 

Since the computer is new and you may not have accumulated many user files, etc., yet, I think I would reinstall the whole system from your recovery partition, assuming the manufacturer issued the computer with a recovery partition. Then, remove all proprietary software the manufacturer installed on it, that you don't need.
