need some help here

    My step daughter tok her mom's laptop top work to see if it could use the wirelss internet system. about 4 days later my wife turned on her computer
    and it would not boot-up. I can not even get it to boot-up in safe mode to try the system restore. It say during one boot-up try in safe mode that
    windows root\system32\Hal.dll missing reinstall file and retry. But I can't get to the comand promt C:\ to install it. Any help with this would be great

    Do you have a system disk? If you do boot the computer and do a repair install. This will keep all your data intact and fix the missing hal.dll file.
    Not sure of your OS but if you have XP, here is a page that will help you.
