need some help with networking my comps

ok. i know very little about networking. and i finally got my 2 computers networked so i can play games and would like to be able to tranfers files and share my internet but i cant. can anyone giv me some insite on how to network them so i can share my internet. i have win xp sp2 on both comps. and i am using dial up internet. not sure if u can even network dial up. but anyways could someone plz tell me what i need to do to network my connection.
