Need some help.

For some reason, my firewall, and my virus protection is being turned off and it's being done by Vista Anti Virus 2009/Vista Anti Malware or something. I'm always having to do a system restore to get rid of the things that pop up on my screen. I do not know if it is legitimate, because it apparently scans my C: disc and tells me that there are a number of problems found. It also tells me that to solve the problem I need to update the software or pay or something. Like I said, it shuts down my virus protection and my firewall to tell me to update it, by throwing pop ups at my screen.
