Need sound driver

I reinstalled xp and lost my sound driver and my usb ports do not work. Thanks for the help.

You'll need to select a download location like "USA" or where-ever you happen to be on the planet, then click the "Download Now" button, then enter the download "code" that's provided when prompted. When the driver has finished downloading, unzip it, then install it... good luck!

I downloaded the file and unzipped it. I then tried running the setup file and it will not finish running and has an error. There is also a xp folder but it doesnt seem to have an exe file. Should I post the error code or is it something else? Thanks for your help.

 

Hmmmm... try using the steps in this thread to install the driver via the Device Manager. You'll point the wizard to the folder named 'XP' that you mentioned before. That should work. If not, please post the make and model of the PC if it's a pre-built system. Or open the case and post the model number of the motherboard. It will be printed on it somewhere; usually near the CPU socket or between the PCI slots. Be sure to unplug the power cord from the PC before opening the case!!
