    Try this link: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5570.html
In the middle of the page you'll see a Vista section and a drop down box for Drivers & Utilities. Click the downward-pointing arrow and select the Audio driver. Download it and re-install it. If that still doesn't work, check your BIOS and be certain that the audio is enabled. If it is and you still have no sound, then something must be turned down or turned off, or something is muted. Did you have sound before and then it stopped working? Was the sound OK on everything except for CounterStrike?

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. Maybe you could post a screen shot of the device manager? Is there yellow question marks or exclamation points in the device manager? Have you gone to Add/Remove Programs and if the sound driver is listed, have you removed it, rebooted, then reloaded it from the link I posted above?

    1. Open up the volume control icon in the tray by double clicking and be sure nothing is set to mute.
    2. Laptops have keys that also control the volume, you probably have to hold down the function key and maybe the up arrow to increase the sound or the function key and one of the F keys along the top. Make sure the volume is high using these.
    3. If you plug in a headset, do you have sound?

there is absoultely no sound with or without headset, the only thing i did is go to
"drivers" which is right next to "general" on the screen and clicked unistall and then the sounds gone.
i tried reinstalling the sound software and after reinstalling it it still gives me no sound

Can you 'roll back' using system restore to a date before all this started?
