    Hi all:

    I have dowlded the Major Geeks administrators recommended web site for OEpress spell checker.
    Dowld stated it was placed in C:\prog files\common files\msoft\proof , actually file was placed in My doc's & settings\john\desk top. Not being a wizard in at a loss as how I can place into the proper folder?

    Do I dra and drop to the proper folder.

    The file did appear on D top, but DD click only goes through the install step again.

    Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated.

    Hope I spelled everything ok.

    It is always advisable to download software to your desktop and then close the link before opening and installing it.
    The install wizard should have put it in the C:\ programs file.
    But if not, drag and drop would be fine.

    Hi

    Moved your post to its own thread from the other referenced here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19009

    Which Windows version are you using and if XP are you logged in as Administrator? When installing at the end of the install are there any messages in the installers window stating it cannot be installed? especially as the installer stated the correct folder for this app to install into in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\proof

    What are the file names that the installer put on your Desktop?

    You may need to turn your Antivirus off as some protect system folders from being written too.

    Major Geek's support Forum;

    Prior to recieving your e-mail with suggested corrections I proceeded with the following;

    I uninstalled spell checker and restored to original configuration!

    I down;oaded the spell checker, and closed the downld site before installing the program, unforctunatley it reinstalled in Doc's and Settings.
    When the box opened to direct file, it didn't provide for selection of C;\prog files\common files\MSoft shared\proof.

    The file spell checker, spell.exe apparently installed because, whoo, it appeared in the Outlookexpress mail client and funtions as a spell checker.

    Can this be left as installed or should the files be draged and droped to the proper folder?

    Thank you guys for all the help for this novice
