Hi, I'm planning to build my own computer soon and would like a couple of suggestions on the hardware(graphic card, processor, motherboard, ect..) i should buy.I have around 600 dollars to spend. I'm somewhat of a gamer, but not too hard core lol. the games i would play are probably like CS source, sims 3, left4dead.

    Here's what I'm thinking...

casing- a case with a side window but don't know what brand and model
processor - a Dual core but don't know what brand and model
    Fan - no clue
    motherboard - no clue
memory - 4gb but don't know what brand and model
graphic card - geforce 9800 gtx but i think thats too much for the games that id be playing haha and too expensive!
sound card - no clue (might not even buy one)
hard drive - 500 gb but don't know what brand and model
    cd burner - no clue
power source - 500W but don't know what brand and model

Well, a certain scrambled egg online store has the Antec 300 case for $59 shipped. It does not have a window, but is a very nice case for the price. I think you could get a 8800GT/GS for a lot less, I have seen several used ones at good prices. That should be a great card for the games you listed. (At least it will rock Counterstrike S, I am not familiar with the other.)

My current favs for PSU's are PC Power & Cooling and NZXT. ThermalTake makes some decent lower end PSU's, and I have had decent luck with OCZ, had to warranty one not long ago. (I know OCZ = PC P&P)

I am sure you will get lots of suggestions. You should decide if you want Intel or AMD. Also, do you want a dual or quad core? Currently I like Intel better, but AMD is a good budget option.

Welcome to MajorGeeks by the way!

Nice specs ibbonkers!! I'm thinking about building it myself!!! LOL The only change I would make is to the power supply (but that Thermaltake is a great deal with the rebate ;) ). I'd go with one of these two Antec units (esp. the first one; look at the amps on the 12v rails! WOW)

I am not sure on that psu. Someone may have more of an idea on raidmax. The ram I picked in my 1st post is for intel boards. Missed that little hickup :( but if you want I'll see if I cant refine it down in price for the intel setup(if intel is what you want :) )

You could save a few $'s by searching for the Antec 300 at the site you are all linking to. The case is $59 shipped. :-D
