need to access more then a website with laptop

I have windows 2000 professional. its a company laptop and all I can access is their websites. I need to access more then just that to do my job, and it says those websites are not available. however, I do have internet access. how can I go about doing that?? thank you in advanced.

I tried calling my company but I have been on hold for 45 minutes now

 

It sounds like the IT department has restricted the access on that laptop. Odds are you will need to log in as administrator to change these settings. The only probelm being, the IT department is going to be the only one with the password to that account. I hate to say it, but you are probably going to have to wait for them. Sorry.
