Need to delete a file I can't find

Since I merged my partitions (D drive into C drive) I've had trouble deleting a stray Incredimail file that somehow still has the locations of DriveD (which no longer exists). I found it recently in Run>msconfig>configuration utility>StartUp and it's the only file there listed as D:...everything else is C: I tried to find it in Regedit, but it wasn't listed. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Stephanie

 

Hi Halo! Thanks for coming to my rescue. The name is "DriveD\ProgramFiles\Incredimail\Bin\Incredimail\exe/C" Don't know what the forward slash C is at the end of that. Anyway, my hidden files are already showing and I can't find it in Regedit. Let me know if you think of anything. I wish you could delete while you're in Configuration Utility...but you can't.

 

I delete files in MSConfig by finding them in the registry and deleting them there which should also remove the entry in MSConfig.

Firstly, make sure to backup your registry before you do anything.

From memory, in regedit go to HKey, Local Machine, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, Run. (may also be in Run Once, Run Ex etc).

Try also doing a search in the Registry for Incredimail or it's parent company. (Use Edit, Find in Registry).

BTW, if it's listed in MSConfig, it should also tell you the Registry location and file location.
