Need to DL an Install Copy of IE6

Hi! I want to install Netscape 7.2, but it won't install until it sees a version of IE of 5.5 or later.

I have been looking for IE 6, but all roads seem to lead to SP's or IE 7 (no beta's, thank you).

Where can I download (for free) an install copy of IE 6?

What operating system are you using?

What version of IE do you now have installed?

Hi, all. Took Brownizs' advice. The file is less than 500K - is this the full package, or will it want to go online to complete the install?

It is a Downloader that downloads IE6 sp1 to the machine. If you need the full version, you would need to either purchase a copy, or order from Microsoft.

Problem with that, is that Firefox will not allow the machine to be updated through Microsoft's website, along with the possibility that the OP does not want Firefox and a end-all solution.

Hi. Turns out that the downloaded ie6setup.exe DOES cause a large (18M) download, which is what I wanted to avoid on my friend's dialup connection.

No matter. All was accomplished and things work fine .
