Need to fix XP 'Exception RunMap.runmap'-WTF?

I am trying to install a game on my Compaq Presario computer, running Wndows XP. Usually, when I put in a CD-R the installation runs with a couple clicks and I am done. This time, though, I keep seeing Exception RunMap.runmap. How can I get rid of this and get my CD-R to install it?! On a 1-10 scale of technical aptitude, I am about a 2, 3 tops. I tried 'Add New Programs', but it shows only a floppy disc option, and not a CD-R option to click. I am depressed enough sitting home on Friday night, and now no game to get me through it... Help, please?
