Need To Get Rid Of NORTON ANTI V 04 PRO

ran into some problems with a power surge eh.anyways had to reinstall xp pr over itself and then reinstall all programs. (not format). now can't seem to get the uninstall for norton antivirus 2004 pro not uninstall so i have looked at symantec site but they seem useless. i know there is another way just need a hand getting to it.i have tried reintalling it to then uninstall but to no avail.tried safe mode but ya know that won't work lol.so i am trying to reach out here any idea's????????????????????????????????????

You might wanna try a clean format, by backing up all your documents, doing a format and re-installing windows cleanly. Unfortunatley this seems like the only viable solution to me.

 

Or dig the bugger out manually as i did with Norton some time ago. Killed all the files on the harddrive i could find then went to work in the registry by searching for Norton and Symantec. (Save your registry first) Then delete whatever you find. Now go to your startup menu and kill any refs there. Reboot. Then run a registry cleaner (freebies available this site).
