Need to know if my power supply is going out.

Okay, so my problem is that my PC keeps randomly cutting off. When this happens the rest of the house is fine, and so is everything else on the power strip, so I'm good on that end. My most recent upgrade was a FX-8120 CPU in which I upgraded from AM3 to AM3+, meaning I could no longer use my liquid cooling system (not a huge deal, the radiator was a bitch to refill anyway).

So there-in lies my dilemma, I don't know if it is the Power Supply or the CPU. The CPU is 3 months old, and this problem started about 1.5 months ago, so the coincidence is pretty suspicious. I will say that the last time it did this (about 15 minutes ago) that the power button was unresponsive until I flipped the power supplies main switch on the back of the pc, after which it started as soon as I pushed the button. The total time between it stopping, and me getting it started again was about 30-45 seconds, making me think that heat wasn't an issue; however it does feel fairly warm for my taste. I am getting no beeps from the AIMEE bios system to insist there is a machine error of any kind, no blue or black screens, only power outages.

Also if this helps any it seems to only do this on higher end games such as guild wars 2, eve online and diablo 3 (all of which are played on max settings). I do not seem to have problems with games such as starcraft 2, and cities xl 2012 which tells me that the CPU is not likely defective, however the added graphics card power demand added to the CPU demand of the higher end games may be enough to cause either of the 2 problems, and as a result the power cuts could be due a strain on the power supply, or due to overheating and a fail safe power cut (but like i said, I get no beeps from the motherboard).

If anyone can tell me what they think it might be I'd appreciate the tips, I'm on a limited budget so I can not afford to buy the wrong replacement.

Specs for anyone who thinks it might help to know them
    Power Supply - 1100W
    CPU - AMD fx-8120
    GPU - nVidia 570gtx with 2gb ddr4
MB - Gigabyte (model number unavailable) am3+ socket with sli and usb3/sata3.
    Ram - 4gb ddr3
Primary HD - Sata 1 350 Gb Western Digital

This statement makes me think it's likely a power supply issue. I've worked on two customers' PCs over the past month with the same issue of random shutdowns. In both cases, a new power supply solved the problem. No shutdowns, even if I left the PC running in "High Performance" power mode for 24 hours straight.

Good luck on solving the problem. Hope this helps. :)
