I have an acer system, and had xp media installed, basically have nuked the drive about three times, and I still cannot get rid of one of the partitions, is there a program that I can use to delete these partitions for good, or
a program I can use to switch between partitions?
Please help this comp is going to take me out lol

How big is the parition? Some systems (not sure about Acer) have a recovery partition or a tools partition for running diags that is seperate from the main partition.

If you use a Win XP CD to install, when you boot to it and start the Windows install procedure it should take you to a partitions page where you can create new or delete existing partitions (select the partition and hit D -> Enter -> L). Can you remove them this way?

right that recovery partition is what I need to get rid of, not sure on the size I'll check it, but it isn't leting me get rid of it from the windows install either, its a tricky one lol

With Windows install can you get to Disk Management? Right-click My Computer and select manage. Go to disk managment. Does that small partition show up there?

I can get to disk mangement, but the partition doesn't show up there

But the partition does show up when you boot to the CD for the Windows install? What does it say on that partition screen then?

And just out of curiosity, is there a reason you want to get rid of this partition?

it shows that it is unallocated and blank just says drive is smaller than what it should be

If its unallocated then you may be able to extend the main partition. A program like Partition magic may do the trick. Windows also ships with a command line utility called DiskPart that would work but its a bit trickier to use.

if those dont work, try fdisk
i know you can delete partitions with fdisk..
you might have to restart into dos though ... after i wiped my drive i got a partition out..
