Need to recover file!!!

I am desperately trying to recover a PowerPoint file with no luck. I accidentally saved an old version over the new version earlier this week and since then did a thorough clean-up on my hard drive (emptied temp files, etc.). I've tried all of the free-ware programs (i.e. Undelete) to recover deleted files with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

If you have loaded any programs (like Undelete) to try and recover your powerpoint program AFTER you have found your file missing, then you probably have overwritten your Powerpoint file.

You must install programs like Undelete on a separate partition, if you have one (after the event), or have already installed programs like Undelete PRIOR to the event.

Any recent new or updated program, at all, loaded will / may / probably has, overwritten your deleted file.

Sorry, but you may be out of luck.

There's a good recovery program called Easy Recovery. Not cheap, but they have a lite version which looks like it might help you. You can find out more about them at:

I haven't actually found a recovery software better than this one.

Thanks for the advice - I'm half-way through recreating the file I lost... Looks like that's going to be the easiest thing for me to do after spending hours trying to recover it and getting nowhere! Thanks again!

 

Don't forget, if you find a good "Undeleting type" program, that you like, install it on your PC before you may need it again.
