Well, unless you're planning to build a computer for NASA then you're fine right now.

That computer isn't top of the line, but there isn't a single game out that it shouldn't play well. It could also handle any work you throw at it as well. If you find it's running slow it's because you've got the drivers installed wrong or a whole lot of useless software running in the background. Upgrade isn't worth it.

A hardcore gamer may suggest upgrading the video card, but to be quite honest that one would play any game anyways.

I agree, upgrading at this point would be overkill. You could cram some more memory in there, BTW.....does 1.25gb mean you have one stick of 256 & one of 1024? Maybe swap out the 256meg stick for another 1024 & make sure they are of the same brand. This can be a source of slower performance.

Check for any BIOS updates, using @BIOS is so simple, even a caveman could do it. lol

Also as Coco suggested you could just have alot of useless software clogging up your HDD. When was the last time you Defragged, cleaned out your Registry or ran a check for Spyware? Try some of these things & get back with us.

If you just want to upgrade maybe a faster CPU? I'd love to have what you got now. :p

Unless you are trying to compete with the government...you have a VERY respectable build!!!!

Try eliminating some of the junk in MSConfig!! Go to Start>Run...type in "msconfig" (without the quotes) then click on the "Starup" tab at the top, and uncheck anything you don't need, then click "Apply", and "OK", and then it will tell you, you need to restart in order for it to take effect!!

You might be amazed how much unneeded junk is running in the background without your knowledge!! You only need (at most) a half a dozen things in that list...being your antivirus, firewall, and maybe any kind of system monitor or sound or video controller, that you might want readily accessible!! I myself choose nothing but my AV and firewall, and leave everything else to the wolves!!

Also...if you do a moderste amount of internet stuff and/or downloading...then make sure your system is Spyware and Virus Free!!!! The link below is an excellent tutorial on how to accomplish that...

    Hope that helps!!
