Needing help with C&C Generals and Sim City 4

Could someone possibly help me with these two games, every time I try playing them they get to the gameplay menu then freeze and occassionally crash my computer, my computer match the specs of both games and I've tried updating my driver but every time I run it I get 'INF error Video driver not found' and then it says 'Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adaptor with a standard VGA driver before running setup' my driver is the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 version 6.14.0010.6378......If anybody could help me it will be greatly appreciated!!

 

downlaod everest and watch your temperatures, it could be that those games are overheating your video card.It sounds like you have a laptop, am I right?

 

Ty will try it now, yeah I do have a laptop.

 

The temperatures when running the game were CPU started off at 77celsius then decreased to 68celsius and the HDD was 50celsius.......Can anybody help, please?

 

That is extremely hot. I have no idea how to disassemble a laptop but you should air dust it at least. Make sure all the fans are spinning, and maybe get a "chill mat" for your laptop, if your CPU is really 77C you are lucky it isn't dead can you see your temps in BIOS? if they are similar to the everest temps youve got problems, to boot into BIOS if you didn't know F1 or ESC when it reboots, it could be a different key, my comp tells me what to press when it reboots but many don't.
