Neither Urgent, nor work related... Just asking

Gentlemen...er...and Ladies:

Having performed the requisite search for the terminology, I am asking for assistance for, probably, a very simple problem:

How does one keep the "desktop" (C:...user/(admin)/desktop) from loading @ Boot? I've got a GREAT program from MajorGeeks.com called "DeskHide" that I use after I gett'er going; However, the wait time for loading the multiple icons is........long. Ha!

I have only TWO programs which load at Boot. I enjoy the visual memory of the desktop icons. No other programs with desktop icons start at Boot.

Is there a way of which you are aware which allows the control of "Desktop" loading at Boot? I have GodMode downloaded recently from MajorGeeks, but can't find a solution within its listings.

Again, this is NOT an urgent nor work related problem. I'm just wishing for a better controlled computer (Aren't we all?!?~!) Thank you.

 

No way to get rid of the desktop. It starts with Explorer.exe during boot, and Explorer.exe is necessary for the start menu to function.

You can, however, easily make your desktop icons disappear if this is what you would like:

Thanks, but no thanks! I LIKE having the Icons. They are a memory trigger for my old mind! Ha! I will utilize the procedure that was shown on the YouTube video to get rid of the Icons only during Boot. It'll be simple, now, to retrieve them, as needed!
