 I have ASUS mobo P4S533, Intel P4 3.066 MHzw/HHT, nVIDA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card w/128 mb, WD 80 hard drive, lite-on 48 CD/R/W DVD/R, AWARD BIOS and XP Pro OS and US Robotics V.92 PCI faxmodem, love my system except I'm stuck out in the country with only land line to Internet. I hook up at 45.2 Kbps, I have looked at satelitte, WISP and have no other choice but my dedicated telephone line to the internet !!
What are web accelerator programs and do they work? How do they work?
If yes, then what and who has a good program. I would appreciate any input any one can pass on to me. Thanks in advance.......land locked in the sticks!!

Web accelerators don't work. The ones that do help a bit only do so because they download stuff while you're doing something else. But even they don't help and if you're still using dialup there is very little chance they'll do anything at all.

No matter what you do, dial up is slow, and there isn't much you can do about it. What country do you live in? Some places have special plans for people living out in the country. Most of Canada has a nice plan that they'll give only to people in the country that's actually pretty fast, although a lot of people don't know about it.

You're only other option is you could use two modems to connect. Which would double your speed, but then you need to use two phone lines as well.
