    Hi,

I've been getting the above error message when I try to use Nero 7 Ultra Burning ROM or Express. I have uninstalled and re-installed Nero 7 Ultra several times now. Also, I made certain to disable Nero Scout each time, as was instructed in past posts with this error title.

But I still get that darned " NMIndexStoreSvr.exe - encountered a problem, now will shut down" error window.

I can't seem to use the burning ROM or Express part of Nero without hitting these bumps. And I used to do these functions alot, until recently, about last month or so. Did scans and find no malware.

Here are the details in the MS Error Report:
    Error Signature
    AppName: nmindexstoresvr.exe version 1.0.0.1
    ModName : nndataservices.dll
    offset : 0005392e

Thanks for any help, much appreciated....

I'd save the cleanup tool somewhere just in case Norton starts acting funky again.

Norton ??? You mean Nero, right ? Yes, I will save the Nero Clean-Up tool with my 'downloads'. Funny thing, I noticed Norton's Clean-up Tool they have there in 'My Downloads', too. I recall having to use it last year when I tried to completely uninstall Symantec from my entire system. Too much drainage on RAM or the OS. Went completely AVG. Symantec apparently leaves traces that have to be specially removed.
So Nero is like that too. Yes, I've saved the Nero clean-up tool in My 'downloads'.

    Thanks again,

If you also own a copy of Nero6 like I do, I would dump Nero7 and take the loss of having purchased a piece of crap. I have. I use Nero6 almost exclusively now (I do have some other 3rd party apps for extrainious tasks) and have shelved 7 as having no chance of ever working properly since even with the last update its still a piece of crap.

Once bitten twice shy I say, so Ahead Software will never trick me into buying version 8 even if they give it away. I should have known better than to buy 7 when I did, I assumed they would iron out all the problems but I was wrong. Obviously the Company pulled one of those "fire all the high paid employees that know what their doing, and hire a bunch of college students who don't know their A from a hole in the ground" tricks to make more money. Instead they have hurt the Nero name so badly I doubt it will ever recover. I know I'm not the only one trying open source burners to find the best replacement. Don't you just hate it when something as functional and reliable as Nero was, gets taken over by Corporate Shills and turned into a bloated e-paper wieght or coaster maker.

Hmmmmm.....didn't know about the bugs in version 7. I, too, have an old copy of version 6, which I recall was a bit easier and not as glitzy.

I will ponder your thoughts on this matter, and seriously consider reverting back to Nero 6. It always seemed to work well, so maybe 7 is flawed.

    Thanks,

p.s. - No, I don't like it when corporate raiders ruin products (and services) that were once reliable. Happens alot these days....I think maybe politicians are following in those 'shills' footsteps all too much......paper-pushing piles to cover up crummy policies.

This query has been successfully resolved, thanks to the clean-up tool. So how do I close the thread or topic ?

Just post a reply to your own thread and say "solved"
