Nero burning issue

I use Win XP. Wonderered if someone could tell if I was on the right track. I'm trying to burn DVD files (.vob etc) on the hard drive to a dual layer DVD. The error at the end before my blanks turn to coasters is something close to "could not perform end of disc at once." I've tried everything I know, and one suggestion found on via google was to update the winaspi.dll, delete and reinstall Nero, and defrag. Any other suggestions before I begin that project? you must use a authoring program tool to convert the video file(IE: avi,mkv) into a "VIDEO_TS" format to add to a burning program to build or write to a blank DVD

Thanks for reply. i do already have the appropriate dvd files such as .vob files, video_ts.ifo, .bup files etc. I know they are intact as I was successfully able to make .mp4's with CloneDVDMobile, and friends online were successful burning the same files to DVD.

 

sorry for the redundant reply,i recently changed out the older DVDRW on my wife's machine a few months back when it stopped working and replaced it with a newer DVDRAM,it happens that the older unit did not burn or support dual layer disc formatting,i was wondering if your unit is DL Compatible ?, keep an eye on this thread too,I'm sure someone here will have a solution for you

 

My drive is dial layer, it's been working until now.

 

I think it may be worth trying another software like CDBurnerXP to determine if it is the software or the drive. The error may be different but if you get an error, then the problem is likely hardware related.
