Nero Multisession Problem

Nero will not recognise multisession disks, even though I have followed all the correct procedures. If I take my disk and try to continue a multisession on another computer it will recognise and happily write to it, but my fully up to date and very clean XP professional machine at home always returns the message that the disk is not writable. Anyone have a similar problem or a solution??
